Les Marcum joins NextGate as Director of Architecture and Solutions

NextGate Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Les Marcum to our team of experts.  Mr. Marcum joins NextGate as Director of Architecture and Solutions where he will expand the product and services portfolio of our offerings.  “I am excited to be a part of NextGate’s energetic and sophisticated team, and contribute to the design of user-friendly solutions that enhance the decision making capabilities of our clients,” says Marcum.  CEO Andy Aroditis comments, “we are elated to have Les who brings with him unparalleled ingenuity, innovation, and experience.”

Mr. Marcum has been designing and engineering complex software and hardware solutions for over 30 years.  His breadth of experience covers various industries, including Healthcare, Finance, Retail, Utilities, Government and the Military.  Most recently, he was the lead architect for the Provincial Laboratory Information System (PLIS) and interoperable Electronic Health Record (iEHR) projects in British Columbia where he designed and oversaw the implementation of a system to allow authorized clinicians electronic access to laboratory tests and results from public and private laboratory service providers.  Additionally, he created the infrastructure to integrate the province’s health data, offering healthcare workers access to primary care data and other clinical data from pharmacies, laboratories, and diagnostic imaging systems. He has also developed HIPAA transaction processing for Payors, a massive eligibility network for CMS, and a SWIFT framework for banks in Korea and Europe.
